Call for Volunteers!

The Santa Elena Foundation is looking for volunteers to fill the roles described below as we prepare to open the Santa Elena Center at 1501 Bay Street! Please contact us if one of these roles pique your interest. We will work hard to best match your skills and availability.

Greeters for Reception Area
Volunteers are immediately needed to manage the front lobby of the Santa Elena Center during the day. Select days and shifts available.
Duties will include greeting visitors and telling them about the Santa Elena Center, providing literature and links to more information, and answering the phone. Requirements are a friendly smile and disposition!

Guides and Docents
Starting in September, volunteers are needed to serve as docents for the first section of the Santa Elena Center. Duties include guiding visitors on the first floor, sharing information about exhibits and the Santa Elena story, and providing information about programs and events.
Training will be provided. Select days and shifts available.
Requirements: Interest in local history, ability to walk or stand most of your shift, and a knack for storytelling!

Museum Store Attendants
In September, the Museum Store in the Santa Elena Center will be open to the public.
Volunteers are needed to work in the store to keep inventory stocked and help visitors purchase their items.  Merchandising and customer service experience a plus!

Database Assistant
Seeking computer-savvy volunteer to help with administrative database work. Includes Blackbaud’s e-tapestry database and supporting software like Microsoft Office and WordPress website development. Requirements: Ability to navigate software, input data, and maintain attention to detail. Preferred to have own laptop and prior experience with Information Technology or Blackbaud.
